A suggested twelve-month preparation plan, not the organizer’s syllabus or a promise of N3.
Suggested preparation only. Adjust the pace to your starting point. Passing a language exam or certification within twelve months is not guaranteed.
Already an infrastructure professional?
Use a gap-led route rather than restarting your career. Map existing virtualization, network security, Linux, recovery, and customer-delivery experience to the cloud role, but do not relabel on-premises work as AWS experience.
If you already hold Cloud Practitioner, verify its status and choose further study from the target job’s requirements. Assess AWS-specific IAM, VPC design, automation, observability, recovery, and cost controls with hands-on evidence. Study targets and past vendor credentials do not prove current AWS depth.
Keep Japanese preparation separate from technical seniority. Confirm whether an early-career scholarship accepts experienced applicants; direct professional applications may be another route, but sponsorship and immigration approval must be verified separately.
Months 1-3
Cloud and language foundations
Japanese
Kana, N5 foundations, daily listening and a short self-introduction.
AWS / engineering
Linux shell, Git, DNS, HTTP, CIDR, IAM basics, AWS shared responsibility, and billing.
Evidence to retain
A redacted lab journal, network diagram, vocabulary review, and an account-safety checklist.
Months 4-6
Practitioner preparation and N4
Japanese
N4 grammar and reading, requests, clarification, and simple work updates.
Explain service choices and billing controls. Book an exam only when ready; record certification only after passing.
Months 7-9
Operational evidence and N3 bridge
Japanese
Bridge toward N3 reading/listening and practice reporting an incident with support.
AWS / engineering
Build one documented lab with least privilege, logs, backups, failure recovery, and infrastructure as code.
Evidence to retain
Repository, architecture diagram, test results, cleanup instructions, and an honest account of what failed.
Months 10-12
Demonstration and application
Japanese
N3 practice, interview listening, clarification, and technical explanations at your actual level.
AWS / engineering
Demonstrate and troubleshoot your project. Consider Associate study after practical foundations; Professional is not a beginner milestone.
Evidence to retain
CV, project walkthrough, certification verification if earned, and a short bilingual interview practice recording.
Progress is stored only on this device.
Keep the learning loop small
Use the existing daily lesson, Kanji Memory, listening, and review queue. Add one cloud lab journal and one spoken explanation each week. Study targets never become CV credentials automatically.
